Rho Pi Phi is an international professional pharmacy fraternity dedicated to friendship, professionalism, and community service. The Lambda Sigma Delta chapter of Rho Pi Phi was founded at the University of the Pacific's Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy in 1992. We are the first co-ed professional pharmacy fraternity to welcome both men and women of good character into its stronghold. Here, these esteemed individuals are given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enhance their dedication to the profession of pharmacy by participating in community service projects, volunteering at healthfairs, and so much more. Despite being a young fraternity, we are confident in our mission and are constantly finding innovative ways to incorporate our love for pharmacy in all that we do. 

Established with a rich tradition and a commitment to upholding its core values, the Lambda Sigma Delta chapter has become an integral part of the campus culture. Through various philanthropic initiatives, volunteer work, and collaborations with student organizations, the brothers of Rho Pi Phi contribute positively to those on campus, as well as those within the community. From organizing fundraisers for charitable causes to providing free health screenings, this chapter actively seeks opportunities to make a meaningful impact, while also reinforcing their passion for the profession of pharmacy.  

Throughout the year, the brothers of Rho Pi Phi actively give back to our community through volunteer work, while also creating pharmacy awareness to the patients served. Some of our key events include: the annual international trip with the Global Medical Brigade organization to aid underserved communities; the bi-annual DEA Drug Take Back Day to assist the community in appropriately disposing surplus medications; a variety of healthfairs to offer free health screenings to the public along with education on various health topics. We are constantly striving to help our community and are looking forward to the abundance of opportunities that this upcoming year will bring us! ​

In addition, every year, the brothers of Rho Pi Phi host a handful of pre-recruitment and recruitment events that are open to anyone interested in potentially becoming a part of the fraternity. Attending these events is a great way for potential members to get a chance to meet the wonderful brothers who make up this fraternity, while also being able to get a taste of what is to come in their pharmacy careers. These events are centered on fostering newly built relationships, while also enjoying a little break from studying.

The Lambda Sigma Delta chapter also provides its brothers with a wide range of leadership opportunities, from serving on the executive board to overseeing the organization of events and workshops throughout the year. Something unique to this chapter that makes it stand out on campus is the fact that each and every brother of Rho Pi Phi holds some sort of leadership position within the fraternity. These opportunities to engage in a variety of leadership-like experiences enable the brothers to cultivate essential leadership skills, such as effective communication, team collaboration, and project management, which will benefit them in their future pharmacy endeavors. 

After three decades since its inception, the brothers of Rho Pi Phi Lambda Sigma Delta chapter still epitomizes the values of academia, service, leadership, and brotherhood to the highest regard. Through its unwavering commitment to these principles, the Lambda Sigma Delta chapter continues to shape well-rounded individuals who contribute positively to both their campus community and the world at large. ​
